Secondary benefits

Besides the direct benefits that will be generated by the project, there are a number of important secondary benefits including:

  • increase in income and employment opportunities in the marketing of farm produce;
  • increase in the income and employment opportunities for suppliers of crop inputs (seed, fertilisers and pesticides) and contract services (land preparation and transport);
  • employment opportunities for local contractors during project implementation;
  • promotion of grass-root participatory development;
  • promotion of women's socio-economic integration.
