Beneficiaries

The immediate beneficiaries of the project are:

  • direct beneficiaries will be approximately 3,300 farm households or about 30,000 people
  • about 5,300 man-years of employment will be created during implementation
  • some 5,600 jobs will be produced after full development

The second level beneficiaries will be small entrepreneurs such as construction companies, wholesalers of farm inputs and servicing & maintenance companies within the region as a result of the construction of the main irrigation structures and increased cultivation of crops and expanded irrigation systems.
